Nowadays, organizations conceive in a different perspective how they should be led, regarding the new challenges of the world and the arrival of new generations, which require cutting-edge companies. This is why, important companies have been implementing different methods to help improve the work environment, among which the training of managers concerned about the well-being and happiness of their employees stands out, which helps to increase productivity.

A manager is undoubtedly an essential figure in a company since, in addition to having a position of responsibility, he/she must have professional training, considerable experience, and extensive knowledge in the area he/she manages, to ensure that production is efficient. Also, it is a must to know how to guide the work team, so that together problems are solved, obstacles are identified, they adapt to changes and work objectives are met.

For this, there are these some competencies that, to me, should be developed if I want to develop a manager or by those leaders who are in charge of management or, if they already have them, improve them.

First, the critical thinking skill is a key aspect. Problems arise in any company, either as an isolated event or as part of a malfunction in the system. A good manager must be able to resolve them, first analyzing the situation thoroughly to understand its causes and effects.
Moving on, a good manager needs to have communication skills, to clearly express to his subordinates what are the tasks and responsibilities that they must carry out and contribute to the fulfillment of these. Further, a manager is not limited only to delegate, but is involved and actively participates in the tasks necessary to achieve the goals of the company in conjunction with his subordinates, this is why teamwork is essential.

One of the most important skills is leadership. The success of a company is largely sustained by the performance of its leaders. They can motivate their employees, contribute to their professional development and maximize their performance. This comes hand in hand with problem-solving. For instance, when there are difficulties in the company, maintaining calm, order and enthusiasm is essential for the work environment.

To conclude, among the many obligations a manager has in knowing how to delegate, creating trust among his workers, and knowing how to choose his work team, the manager must create trust with his team, customers, and suppliers. To become a manager, I must be a person with a disposition and very organized, I must impartially make decisions and not get carried away by emotions and, finally, must have a good attitude, be positive and optimistic even if I am in the worst moments. It is clear that uniting the employees and earn their trust by thanking the people on the team for their work and acknowledge their successes, will encourage others to do the same and they will be happy to go to the manager when they have doubts, ideas, or concerns. The manager must be a strategist, who can guide his team and plan at all times. Besides, he has to be a person who focuses on the achievements and results of what is planned. Without a doubt, a manager must know perfectly everything about the company and the working area.
